After a lot of hard work by Jenny at Two Girls And Some Flowers we, rather disappointingly, thought we had missed the window competition deadline for the Kings Langley Christmas Lights Festival.
Being the newest shop on the high street we wanted to make a big impression, so had been considering a number of different design choices for our Christmas display. We finally settled on a stunning evergreen foliage and pink painted twig design, with LED fade lighting. We also used the kindly Council provided plant pot to home a real Christmas Tree.
With all the hard work that went into making our shop front look as fantastic as we possibly could, we were disappointed when a local resident told us windows had to be finished by the 29th November. Ours was completed on 1st December 😞…
Having thought we had missed out on the competition, we were astonished to have received this little beauty when we opened up today! Although we didn’t win, Highly Commended is still a cool accolade to receive for our first attempt.
The only disappointing part is that we didn’t get to win the £50 Charity donation. With community being at the heart of our business we will give £50 to a local Kings Langley charity from us anyway.
A very special thank you to Elaine (The Dresser) for the introduction to Jenny, Jenny (Two Girls & Some Flowers) for the incredible window display & The Parish Council for allowing us to enter and showing their appreciation for our efforts.
We’ll have to try a little harder for Christmas 2019 eh!
